Test draft and published behavior
Wirevox intentionally uses different versions for testing and live traffic.
| Surface | Configuration used |
|---|---|
| Authenticated browser voice test | Draft at test-session creation; published/base fallback when no draft exists |
| Shared browser voice test | Snapshot captured for the authorized shared test, sourced from the draft when available |
| Chat editor preview | Draft version ID when available; published fallback |
| New live voice call | Current published version loaded at call start |
| New public Website Chat session | Current published version pinned into the session |
Tests use saved draft state
The editor flushes autosave before opening a test. A voice test receives a configuration snapshot for that authorized test session. Chat preview stores its selected draft or published version ID when it creates the preview session.
Tests consume credits. Chat previews are recorded in Chat Logs, and browser voice tests use their own test-call billing path. Shared voice-test links can limit expiration, attempts, duration, and whether connected tools are allowed.
Live traffic is version-pinned
A live voice call loads the published configuration when the call starts and continues with that in-memory configuration. Publishing during an ongoing call does not rewrite the active call.
A public Website Chat session stores the published version ID when the session begins. Later turns in that conversation continue using the pinned version even after another version is published. New sessions receive the newer published version.
This version pinning prevents mid-conversation prompt, model, or tool behavior from changing unexpectedly.
Validate both paths
Before publishing, test the draft. After publishing, run a new production-path smoke test:
- place a new real call through the assigned number, or
- start a new website session from an allowed origin.
Do not reuse an old call or existing Website Chat session to verify a new published version.
