Core terminology
Use these definitions when reading Wirevox documentation or discussing platform behavior.
Agent
A configured AI participant that handles voice or chat conversations. An agent has a channel, conversational configuration, and optional attached resources.
Approval
A target-specific authorization that allows a prepared Wirevox action to execute once. Preparing an approval does not complete the action. Rejected, expired, failed, or pending approvals have not changed the target resource.
Channel
The communication medium used by an agent. Wirevox currently distinguishes voice and chat channels. Channel choice controls which configuration and functions are compatible.
Credits
Wirevox usage units deducted according to published platform rates. Included and purchased credits form the current available balance unless the workspace has unlimited credits.
Draft
The editable agent configuration. A saved draft can include changes that are not serving live conversations.
Function
A reusable, bounded operation that an agent can invoke. Functions have a defined category and validated configuration. A function must be attached to an agent before that agent can use it.
Integration
A connection between a Wirevox workspace and an external provider. Connecting a provider authorizes access; it does not automatically create an agent function or attach that function to an agent.
Knowledge base
A workspace resource containing indexed information from supported text, document, image, or website sources. Agents retrieve relevant chunks when answering knowledge-dependent questions.
Model
The AI model used to generate responses and, where supported, decide when to call functions. Model compatibility, latency, quality, and usage pricing can differ.
Published configuration
The reviewed agent configuration promoted for active use. Publishing is separate from editing or saving a draft.
System prompt
The authored instructions defining an agent's identity, primary outcome, conversation rules, action behavior, and boundaries. Wirevox can append deterministic runtime instructions that should not be unnecessarily duplicated in the authored prompt.
Variable
A named value available to supported prompt fields. Variables must have defined values and should not be left as unexplained placeholders.
Voice
The speech synthesis configuration used by a voice agent. A voice has an exact identifier, provider, and supported language or delivery characteristics.
Vox
The internal Wirevox platform assistant. Vox can guide users and use registered platform capabilities within the current user's workspace permissions and approval requirements.
Workspace
The primary ownership and security boundary containing agents, shared resources, conversations, contacts, permissions, and billing information.
