Publish, connect, and operate

Production readiness requires four distinct results: a saved draft, a published version, an assigned phone number, and an Active agent.

1. Review the saved draft

Confirm the editor no longer shows Saving... or Save failed. Resolve configuration errors and prompt warnings, run the acceptance scenarios, and review the draft cost estimate.

2. Publish a version

Select Publish, then optionally add a version name and note. Wirevox validates the draft, snapshots its configuration and attached capabilities, archives the previous published version, and makes the new version current.

Publishing does not start a paused agent and does not acquire or assign a phone number.

3. Assign a phone number

Open Phone Numbers and assign an available number to the published agent. The number and agent must be in the same workspace. An agent cannot have two assigned numbers, and an unpublished agent cannot be assigned.

Acquiring a number can have plan and recurring-credit consequences. Review the number details before purchase or assignment.

4. Start the agent

Select Start Agent. Wirevox requires a published version and assigned number for an inbound voice agent. Stop Agent returns it to Paused without removing the number, draft, or version history.

Pausing prevents new inbound conversations from proceeding normally. Treat it as an operational control, not as a rollback or deletion.

5. Verify live operation

Call the assigned number and verify greeting, recognition, knowledge, function behavior, transfer destinations, silence handling, and ending. Then inspect the exact new call record.

Monitor the agent

Use:

  • Call Logs for status, duration, transcript, outcome, summary, and per-call credits;
  • Contacts for caller records and captured information;
  • Analytics for aggregate call and outcome trends; and
  • Billing and usage views for credit balance and workspace consumption.

Post-call fields may arrive after the carrier call ends because analysis and actions run asynchronously. A missing summary immediately after hangup is not necessarily final.

Understand billing

Voice usage is based on measured answered conversation duration and the agent's published rate. The rate combines the configured platform, model, speech recognition, and speech synthesis components. Duration aggregation and rounding can affect the billed amount. Separately priced functions, transfers, SMS, phone numbers, and other services can add charges.

The draft estimate can differ from the published live rate. Publish the change before expecting the new rate on live calls.

Change management

For every production change:

  1. Record the current live version and baseline metrics.
  2. Edit and autosave the draft.
  3. Test the draft with the same evaluation set.
  4. Review cost and warnings.
  5. Publish with a descriptive name and note.
  6. Place a new live verification call.
  7. Monitor failures, transfers, outcomes, latency, and cost.

Restoring an older version copies it into the draft; it does not change live behavior until republished.
