Build agents, prompts, and functions with Vox
Vox can create paused voice or Website Chat agent drafts and edit existing drafts. Before writing a prompt, it must inspect Wirevox's prompt-authoring context. For an existing agent, it also inspects the exact current draft.
Prompt updates are complete replacements
The agent update operation stores a complete systemPrompt; it is not a line-level patch. Vox should preserve the inspected prompt and change only the requested sections unless you explicitly request a rewrite. Always review the complete prompt in the approval card because approval replaces the draft prompt with that value.
Prompt-authoring context tells Vox about the channel, current prompt, variables, attached knowledge, attached functions and exact callable names, and instructions Wirevox adds at runtime. Vox should not duplicate runtime-managed date and time, caller details, internal schemas, provider implementation, raw knowledge content, or channel delivery instructions.
Functions require three distinct steps
Create reusable function --> Attach it to agent --> Add exact prompt rules
approval approval approval
Attachment makes a function available to the agent but does not edit the system prompt. The prompt must contain an exact marker for each callable action:
[[Function: exact_tool_name]]
The rules should define when to call it, required information, confirmation requirements, ordering, what to do after success, and how to handle failure. An integration function with several actions needs one exact marker and rule block per callable action.
A precise request to Vox
Inspect the current draft of “Vox Test” and its prompt-authoring context. Preserve the existing role and facts. Attach “Google Calendar Full Access,” then revise the complete prompt with the exact function marker for every attached calendar action. Add triggers, required inputs, confirmation before writes, success-only claims, and failure handling. Show separate approval cards for attachment and the prompt replacement.
Current lifecycle boundary
Agents created through Vox are paused drafts. Review and test them in the agent editor, then publish through the normal agent workflow. Vox does not currently publish an agent through chat.
