Invite and manage workspace members

Owners and admins manage membership from Settings → Team. Team invitations are unavailable on Free and Pay As You Go workspaces; upgrade the active workspace before inviting collaborators.

Send an invitation

  1. Open Settings → Team in the intended workspace.
  2. Select Add member.
  3. Enter the person's email address.
  4. Choose Admin, Member, or Viewer.
  5. Select Send invite.

You cannot invite someone directly as Owner through the standard member form. Ownership is assigned to an existing member after they join.

Wirevox normalizes the email address, rejects an existing active member, creates a cryptographically random token, stores only its SHA-256 hash, and emails the acceptance link. The invitation expires after 7 days.

If the invitation record is created but email delivery fails, the Team page can still show it. Use Resend after correcting email delivery configuration.

Accept an invitation

The recipient must:

  1. Open the invitation link.
  2. Sign in or create an account using the exact invited email address.
  3. Confirm that email address.
  4. Review the workspace, brand, and assigned role.
  5. Accept the invitation.

Acceptance is atomic and bound to the hashed token, invited email, workspace, role, status, and expiry. Reopening a successfully accepted invitation as the same user is safe; it returns the existing acceptance rather than duplicating membership.

A new user arriving through a valid invitation does not receive an unrelated default workspace before acceptance.

Manage pending invitations

An owner or admin can:

  • change a pending invitation between Admin, Member, and Viewer;
  • resend a pending or expired invitation, which issues a new token and seven-day expiry;
  • cancel an invitation, which marks it revoked.

Expired, revoked, accepted, mismatched-email, and unknown invitations cannot be used.

Manage active members

Owners and admins can change an active member's role or remove the membership. Removing a member revokes their access to that workspace but does not delete the person's Wirevox account or resources owned by the workspace.

Wirevox prevents downgrading, removing, or leaving as the sole owner. Promote another active member to Owner first. A workspace can have more than one owner.

If removal leaves a user with no workspace memberships, Wirevox resets their onboarding state so they can create a new workspace.
